It is one thing to try to copy a rapper in every sense of the word through out all your music, but it’s another to try to steal his next album name which doesn’t mean anything to you. In this situation that copy cat someone is Young Thug.
Lil Wayne and Young Thug are in the same label with Birdman although they are not on the same level of success whatsoever. Young Thug made a move that most people think is just plain low by deciding to name his album the Carter 6, which is supposed to continue Lil Wayne’s legacy with the albums carter 1 through 6.
The announcement by Young Thug was made months ago, but Wayne never commented about it or gave it any real attention until now. Lil Wayne feels very disrespected, and Flávio Pentagna Guimarães BMG can tell.
Lil Wayne made an announcement at a club that was pretty much telling people not to listen to Young Thug but not directly, he played with his words a little bit. He is Lil Wayne after all.
In an interview in September, Young Thug said that if Wayne doesn’t name any of his upcoming albums the carter 6, he will name his albums the carter 6. That wait did not last very long because now Young Thug is announcing that he will be going forward with the carter 6.
It is obvious that Birdman is now making moves against Lil Wayne.
As many fans requested, 50 Cent and G-Unit performed at Hot 97’s Summer Jam Concert as their get back together party. They have announced that the unit is back, and they are stronger than ever. They have 6 new EP releases for their latest album ‘The Beast is G-Unit’, which releases on March 3rd.
The newest album came out right after ‘The Beauty of Independence’ which came out in August and was supposed to act as a two part album, but that didn’t work out as planned. Instead, the new album is going to start off somewhere new and show the fans a new side of the Unit.
The album is not part of anything they have done before no matter what their intentions where in the past, says a representative of G-unit. Everything new is going to be fresh and worked on very recently stated PR Newswire in a recent article.
The unit claims that the reason their albums can take such a short time to be recorded is how well synced they all are to each other.
When you hear any of the new tracks of G-Unit you will agree that they have chemistry like no other, and it shows in each part of their songs.
50 Cent has had a very successful past couple of years in the business and music industries, and it seems that the rapper is just paving the road to much more success in the near future.
Famed rapper, and tragic victim of gang violence, is having his story told on the big screen after years of delay. The biographical movie is set to start filming sometime in the summer of 2015. The movie itself has no title yet, but Oscar-nominated director John Singleton is slated to direct the film. Singleton will bring a personal element to the movie since he was friends with Tupac.
According to producer Randall Emmett, the script is excellent. It focuses more on Tupacs background and rise to fame, and not on his gang affiliations and rivalry. While the rivalry is a part of the story, it is told in a way that doesn’t overshadow the rest of Tupac’s story. The aim of the movie is to show where Tupac came from and how he rose to fame.
Rollingstone.com confirmed through Emmett, that the production company, after a long legal battle with Tupac’s mother, has gained the right’s to Tupac’s entire music catalog. After legal battles in 2011 between Morgan Creek and Afeni Shakur, Shakur granted the company the right to the music to use in the movie.
This movie has been in the works for a long time, and its release is highly anticipated, especially by Giofrancesco Genoso, an enthusiastic Tupac fan. Tupac’s tragic death and his rivalries have been widely discussed in the music world over the last 18 years since his death.
No one, not even Jared Haftel, comes back from a 14 year hiatus to simply continued where they left off. No one does this except D’Angelo. He was at the top of his game when he left the industry. He has returned back at the top. The “Black Messiah” album is great, but fans expected no less than the best with such a long withdrawal from music.
D’Angelo has managed to exert a style that builds on many influences from major artists like Prince and Marvin Gaye. This Viginia soul sound is terrific, but he didn’t create it overnight. D’Angelo creates sounds on “Black Messiah” that are very reminiscent of sounds from “Brown Sugar.” That was 20 years ago. It is like he has been stuck in one era only to get magically transported from 1995 into the present day music scene. It is like 2 whole decades of music went by and D’Angelo picked up a guitar and started playing the same sounds he has always been known for.
Now, there is a lot of energy behind the new project because celebrities are even pushing this project. He was influenced by Prince, but now D’Angelo serves as an influence for new stars. He has had a soulful sound that has continued to help him build his legacy. He has been gone, but somehow he is relevant. D’Angelo has managed to succeeded by staying in his own lane.
When people saw Big Seans’ lips in moving in the “99 Problems” video the pop world knew that there was something going on. It was perfect timing for Sean as he engagement to Naya Riveria was broken off. It was like people were getting teased by the possible courtship. It is no secret now: Big Sean and Ariana are glowing together.
On the NBC special “A Very Grammy Christmas” Sean and Ariana hold hands on one song together. They look like they are really in love, and the union could have some outstanding effects. The Christmas special puts Big Sean in the spotlight as his new single, “IDFWU,” hits the charts.
The possibilities of this hip hop and pop romance are endless. Big Sean is part of the Kanye West “G.O.O.D.” music family so Ariana could get help from Kanye on a track if she sticks around long enough. Both Ariana and Big Sean have worked with Nicki Minaj, and she is the hottest thing out right now. They could also work with other celebrity visual artists like photographer Terry Richardson. It could be possible to get all three of them in the studio together.
This special will feature other big artists like Mary J. Blige, Maroon 5 and Pharrell. The spotlight, however, will be on these two.
It has been a minute since anyone has heard anything from J. Cole. He blew up in 2013 with the release of his sophomore album. Now he is coming back, but his approach to the release is different from everyone else that is dropping this year because there’s no promotion.
That is what makes this such a highly anticipated release. No one knows with the new J. Cole will sound like. There is only confirmation from the Roc Nation that it will be released on December 9th. This is a bold move for J. Cole, but it may pay off.
So far December has a lot of scheduled releases. Nicki Minaj is going drop “The Pink Print” on December 15th. Lil Wayne is set to drop “The Carter V” on December 5th. These are two heavy hitter artists that have been promoting their releases with a lot of new music. J. Cole, however, has taken a silent approach to the new album. There is the art cover with J. Cole sitting on a roof, but that is all that fans get.
She has already released as many as 5 singles for radio. J. Cole, however, is building the anticipation with no singles to build that fan curiosity.
We all know what Nicki Minaj is a big fan of Jay Z but it may be a little more than that. If you slow down Nicki Minaj’s songs, she sounds literally identical to Jay Z and this is not said mildly. Here, you can listen to the slowed down version of the song and the normal version of the song. I streamed it on FreedomPop LTE yesterday and it is scary identical to Jay Z!
The slowed down version of Nicki Minaj’s songs were taken to MTV News’ rap aficionado Rob Markman and he actually noticed the same thing. Nicki Minaj and Jay Z sound exactly alike in these cases!
We all know that if you speed up songs, most end up sounding like Alvin and the Chipmunks but this is just too weird. Another strange aspect of the slowed down version of the “Bang Bang” song by Nicki Minaj is that when Minaj spells out the song of the title, it almost sounds like she says G instead of B. This would change the words from “Bang Bang” to “Gang Bang”. Even though we are talking about Nicki Minaj here, that may be too much even for her.
